Sonicware deconstruct MINIMAL

The deconstruct MINIMAL is a compact groovebox built for one thing: hypnotic minimal techno and house. Sonicware measured the rhythmic and pitch drift of the legendary drum machines and rebuilt that feel into a 10-track engine, so your patterns breathe like the classics instead of snapping to a grid. Choose between 808, 909 and Original groove modes and let the machine do the swaying.

Nine drum tracks draw on 130 sounds across 10 banks, with synthesis on kick and snare and per-track accents, random velocity, swing, sub-steps and parameter locks that capture your knob moves. Four sampler tracks, including a dedicated stereo loop track with time stretch and repitch, take you beyond drums into textures and phrases. An analog-modeling bass synth handles the low end with multiple waveforms, a sub oscillator, glide control and built-in overdrive: weighty house bass one moment, resonant acid the next.

The performance section is where it comes alive. Sweep filter, phaser, distortion, tape-style delay, snip loop and ducking compression sit on the master bus, and a three-band Isolator EQ is dedicated to the drums. Mute, phrase rotation and pattern chaining let you remix a groove on the fly, in the studio or in a DJ set.

It runs on six AA batteries or a 9V adapter, has a built-in speaker, and weighs 840 grams. Sketch a beat on the train, then plug it into the rig at home.
